944-90/100 Process Monitor Control Panels

When an existing analog process radiation monitor ratemeter is upgraded to a digital ratemeter, replacement of the existing hardwired remote monitor control switches should be considered. After years of use, the mechanical vacuum pump and power control switches age, and their operation may no longer be reliable. Internal cams may wear, and no longer function as originally designed. Control contacts may also erode, and become a source of electromagnetic noise when the control circuit is opened. Because of the age of the control switches, replacement operators and contact blocks may no longer be available to rebuild the control switches to correct these problems. The 944-90 and 944-100 have been designed to solve this problem.
The Model 944-90 Process Control Panel is used to provide remote, control room control, of the monitor functions listed below, and contains the following control switches and indicators:
- Main AC Power On/Off switch
- Vacuum or Liquid Pump Motor Start/Stop switch
- AC Power On indicator
- Pump On indicator
- Flow Fault Indicator
- Moving Filter Program/Off/Auto Control switch
- Filter Advance switch
- Filter Fault indicator
The Model 944-100 Process Control Panel is also used to provide remote, control room control, but does not include the Moving Filter monitor control switches and indicators supplied with the Model 944-90. The Model 944-100 controls the monitor functions listed below, and contains the following control switches and indicators:
- Main AC Power On/Off switch
- Vacuum or Liquid Pump Motor Start/Stop switch
- AC Power On indicator
- Pump On indicator
- Filter Fault indicator
Both panel models are designed to be mounted in a Model 948-1 Digital Ratemeter Rack Chassis. Up to three (3) panels may be mounted in a single chassis. The control panel may also share a single rack chassis with up to two (2) 942 Series Digital Ratemeters or blank panels. The panels may also be mounted in a Model 948-10 rack chassis adaptor, and mounted in the existing analog ratemeter rack chassis. The existing field wiring may be reused, and wired directly to the switch or lamp terminals, or a pre-wired cable stub may be used to connect the control panel components to existing intermediate terminal blocks in the control panel or cabinet. To meet a specific remote control application, modifications to the above standard panels are available. The 944 Series Control Panels have been subjected to Seismic Qualification testing.
